A quick update today to inform you that not only can you see the minutes of this week's committee meeting, but also that we have reformatted the constitution, giving it a whole new lease on life. If you have any comments to pass on about these things, then please let us know!

On the 13th of December, we’ll be having our inter-society christmas mixer, with events from Io, GUGS, GUMAF, CosSoc and Pause! Keep your eyes peeled for a schedule coming soon! (What do you want to see your society do? Go chat to a committee member if you have any ideas!)
As a follow up to the christmas mixer, on the 10th of January we'll be holding a ceilidh with CosSoc, Pause, GUMAF and Io to kick start the year with music from the Kylestrome Ceilidh Band! Watch this space, more details coming soon! The Student Nationals are a weekend of competitive inter-university gaming and fun times with all your best GUGS pals. This year tickets are £25, and if you want to come to nationals then I'll be needing that from you as soon as possible.
Niamh or another committee member will be lurking with cashboxes and spreadsheets every GUGS from now until the last GUGS of the term – that's 16th December - to take your money and your game choices. So you have 3 weeks/seven GUGS opportunities to sign up. Remember to have your favored category and two backups. The info pack, which contains more details about the event and the categories available, can be found here. A quick update today guys, to note that Leicester have uploaded the wargaming pack for next year's Student Nationals. All those planning on attending with their tiny plastic friends should take a look, and begin planning to ruin the hobby of other attendees. There is also a separate comp pack for Warhammer Fantasy, for those thinking of attending in that category.
Are you thinking of attending? What category do you want to enter? And how do you intend to collect the tears of those that you crush and drive before you? Let us know! We have two points of interest to mention today. Feast your eyes on these nuggets of delectable gaming fun. Two Headed Giant Draft Tomorrow, Saturday the 15th, we have a two-headed Giant format Magic the Gathering draft. Join us in Jim's Bar (not the Food Factory) where GUGS will be held this weekend. Entry is £10, and the format is designed for both newcomers and experienced players to take part and have fun. More details can be found on the Facebook event page here. Glasgow Games Festival Here is an upcoming nerd event that will doubtless be of interest to many of our members. I've posted the image below without their permission, but hopefully they'll understand and not take legal action such as will destroy all of our hopes and dreams. D:
The minutes of this week's AGM have now been typed up, and are available for your reading pleasure. You can find them here, and a link has been added to the Documents page.
If anyone feels that their words have been misrepresented, then please let us know and a corrected version will be issued. The Committee is Dead, Long Live the Committee! After last night's AGM, we have a new committee to represent you in matters both mundane and magical. Or at least nerdy. Let's see who they are! The Executive ConvenersThe AGM & Minutes We hope to have the minutes of the AGM up shortly, but the brief account would be this:
The society voted in favour of amending the constitution to have three classes of members. The society voted in favour of moving the AGM to be held in semester one, before week 6. The society voted in the committee that you've seen above. Craig (in cat ears) was retained as the mascot. Today is our Annual General Meeting, which will feature some resignations, as the current committee steps down, as well as the start of a beautiful new committee. We will also be discussing points of interest to the society, most importantly the changes to the constitution to reflect the triple classification of members. Please come along, take part, and have your voice heard! It is at 6:30pm in the Food Factory, as per usual.
